Hi - found an old thread where people were swapping ideas and dimensions re making some Beovox speaker stand copies. Did anyone take the plunge?

Considering it myself, and was looking for inspiration!

Somewhere on the forum there is some drawings with measurements, but without the "nose", on Ebay I saw a pic of presumed S 45 stands with a (smaller) "nose". As I'm waiting (and bored) for a pair of S45s I started to think about it, Speaker footprint is 265 Mm wide, 200 Mm deep, size of foot found on forum is 265 x 255, if I put the crossbar directly on the upright, the S45 will hang about 50 Mm behind the front of the stand, and thats bad design, the nose is with crossbar 30 Mm, this distance computed with the newest cientific knowledge (one eye closed and my thump) this will bring the bottom edge of the speaker to the front of the stand when pointed a little upward. My stand has the footprint 265 x 250 Mm, So if you make your own stand, wide= speaker wide, deep= speaker deep + 20 Mm and crossbar directly on upright, or "nose" and deep= speaker + 20 +nose. If the speaker weights more than 12 Kg I recommend 3/4" x 1.1/4" 18 gauge steel. I have welded the upright to the foot, it should be attached by a M6 screw, but its difficault to make without a lot of work.

Homedepot has felt or plastic pads to glue under the stands.

The brass bushers: Hole on crossbar is 10 Mm crossbar 5 Mm thick, busher is 8 x 7 Mm where it through hole attach to speaker and 15 D x 9 with sinkhole for M5 Allen screw behind crossbar. this should give enough play for inclination ajustment. Ajustment screw is M5 allen, head pressed into brass, I did these brass details just because I could.

Very nice indeed. They look great. I'm going to do it. Just need to find someone who can weld now!

I had the stands for Beovox S45-2 custom made. I used the same measurements that Søren just mentioned. I had mine made in INOX and they look very nice.

A year later, I got my hands on the original S45-2 stands and they are spot on copies. I still use inox stands in my living room instead of the original ones :)

Hi styppen! Hope you are fine! Can you please send me the total height of the s45 2, mounted in the stands? I just bought a set with the original stands. I am already making room for them! Thank you in advance!

Stay safe. Best wishes, José.
