Hi,

I have read several threads on restoring the Beogram 1200 series, and my motor oilite bushings are soaking oil under vacuum right now.

However I'm not sure how to clean the platter and rest of the brushed aluminum. The general tip on www is lemon juice and baking soda, but I have no idea if the beogram parts are coated or not.

What do you use?

The eloxated aluminium surfaces; A Magic eraser and a drop or two of water.
Don't clean the platter with anything besides a soft and dry cloth.

Thanks Martin, but does that mean the platter doesn't have the same surface as the surrounding aluminum?

Answering my own question.. they are not the same.

Put the motor back together and realised only the rest of the aluminum is eloxated, not the platter. Will be getting that magic eraser equivalent asap.

Regarding the motor fix, it now spins. However need to check speed and also if it is making a humming noise it shouldn't do.
