Good news indeed, but aren't they horrendous. Who would do that to their wall?

Beosound Stage, Beovision 8-40, Beolit 20, Beosound Explore.

For Marine yachting maybe it passed. Agree Chris who will buy hidden speakers in 2.1 system only for $ 4.595 ? Crazy 😜 B&O 's managers live in another planet !?

I'd buy the BL3s before those, but I don't watch movies much, and I'm not really into surround sound.

With that said, it seems there's a nice void in the market when it comes to active in-wall speakers. Passives, and to a lesser extent, powered passives seems to rule in that market. Oh, as does sub.par products. I think they have found a niche with these for people who want active in-walls. And as for speakers in yachts, as you mention.

A lot of people I know prefer speakers to "invisible". And because of that, they have miniscule, passive speakers. A few of them could easily afford BL5s, but they would never want to have speakers on the floor. Not even the 8000 or 9.

I don't think it's that expensive. And I also think that in new-builds it will be a hit (well, as much as speakers at that price can be a hit).

I agree, this is a ‘female-friendly’ alternative for peaople who don’t want to see big speakers. The motorized tilt functionality adds just that B&O feeling to it.

Great concept, If this system is at least on par with BL8000’s or maybe even better.

Oh my! Isn't it by sheer coincidence that both the A9 and the Lab15,16 won prizes after I praised them for their designs? LOL.... It's as if I designed them.... I wish...

Again I love it that it is not invisible but deliberately bauhaus in aesthetic. Never goes out of style.

Anybody knows the brand of the sofa that is featured in the picture? It's da bomb!

  • Agree again with Chris. These speakers are not invisible. I prefer to have nice sculptural speakers on my room like hidden speakers.

What do you mean by scripture speakers?

I dunno about invisible speakers modern trends suggest people do like to see them. Have you seen Hedi Slimane's massive multi-speaker installations in Dior Homme's boutiques a while back I thought that really marked the beginning of something new.

Errr.... $4600 for a fully active architectural speakers? Thiel has long offered costlier versions for almost a decade and they aren't even active! They are very well regarded btw. Let's not mention other higher end offerings as well...

Why exactly do you think it is overpriced? The amplifiers are separately boxed in another module which is another cost and then there is the subwoofer with 4 opposing drivers and that is not to mention about the styling.

But what I don't like is how high (120hz) the subwoofer is crossing over to the sats though but I think the execution of the subwoofer might guarantee a seamless transition.

True, but they're "as good as" invisible for the purpose of the people I know :)

Since you know nothing about the technical aspects of audio reproduction, you may wish, but you won't get anything out of it. It's not merely drawing a circle. Oh, and yes, it' is sheer coincidence.

And, yet, they're passive design. So they may be "very well regarded" in the audiophile circuits, for want of a better term, but they're passive by design, so they're basically crap.

It's not a problem to have the crossover at 120Hz. It's not a passive design where it's obvious where the crossover is, regardless of where it is put.

As a p.s., I thought you were leaving. You cried foul and slammed the door, yet you're back, continuing with your nonsense and delusions of grandeur.

As a manufacturer what do you do if sales of your core audio and video products (and by definition, current loudspeaker sales) are declining?

Bring out another set of loudspeakers!

introducing another set of loudspeakers at this point is madness, utter madness!

B&O are you listening? We need a new coordinated multi room music system NOW!

Having speakers in-wall makes perfect acoustic sense.

A lot of people consider speakers clutter and want them small and unobtrusive, ending up with inferior sound.

These speakers deliver a number of advantages in performance and convenience, and they are not overpriced, IMO.

Getting those speakers in a wall is going to be a major effort. Most stud partition walls are not that deep, so I wonder if they can accommodate the speakers?

It might be easier to build the wall around the speakers!

Quite right Moxxey, and for that reason the number of sales will be low.

On the face of it these new speakers seem to share some components with the BeoVox2. The sales of which have totally collapsed.

Shame because I'm sure they'll sound brilliant.

I  would agree with soundproof, the room I have my Avant in could only have wall speakers. I do see a market for these.

Oh yes I missed posting my nonsense on the forum for the couple of days that I was gone. B&O is going through a very exciting new phase I will like to be a part of the excitement.

There might be a few things I disagree with you on the crossover at 120hz part but I won't want to engage you. You do know that almost all subwoofers out there are active right?

As much as I am a fan of active speakers and have only bought active. I won't dismiss all passive speakers as crap. Isn't that a little harsh on the people who prefer them?

Oh yes. Most speakers used for monitoring are flush mounted so the impact of cabinet resonances on sound will be reduced to the point of nill.

And the ideal baffle is one of infinite baffle which is essentially a wall.
