Hi everyone,Fairly new to this site so please bear with me. Have been an avid B&O customer for the last ten years, most of which was purchased whilst overseas in Asia.
Since returning to the UK however I have noticed that the battery section (take 3x AA batteries) has become corroded, one of the metal contact points has fallen out, and therefore I am unable to use my phone to change the volume on my stereo (Audio / Video addon clip on attachment) as there is no battery power. I have approached a B&O dealer but was told due to the age of the product that there are no spares to replace the damaged sections. Anyone able to help or offer suggestions as to what to do.Phone works perfectly well, this problem aside, so am loathe to replace it with a new phone costing four hundred pounds or so. Are there any sites to visit where people are getting rid of their old second hand phones? Thanks in advance,
I would personally try to look for something that would make a good substitute. if you got kids nearly all toys contain batteries and they get so much stuff they don't notice when the odd thing stops working... I am sure you could find some sort of suitable replacement somewhere!

I don't know the used price on these telephones i the UK, but here in Denmark you can get a whole phone for very little money, so maybe its worth looking after a second hand model and get the spares from that
Thank you both for your answers. Much appreciated.@MadskpI haven't been able to locate any second hand ones in the UK unfortunately. When you say here in Denmark you can get a whole phone for very little money what kind of pricing are you talking about please. Perhaps it would be easier to get a second hand one in Denmark, and have it posted? is there a second hand website that I could check that is widely used in Denmark?
Many thanks.
From arround 20€ and up. There are two danish sites i would recommend looking at
www. qxl.dk is an auction site where you have to be a member. A lot like Ebay
www.dba.dk is just second hand advertisments where you can directly take contact to the seller
That's great. Much appreciated.Thank you for the heads up.Will take a look at those two sites.
best regards.

They look georgeous don't they, elegant design
Please pay special attention at the phone cord if you buy them 2nd hand. The cord entrance sometimes are worn out caused by frequent use, result, cracking noise!

Indeed they do Leslie. Mine is in blue and, bar the battery issue, still works well after 10 years or so. No other phone comes near it (not even the other B&Os)Thanks for your warning regarding the phone cord.:)
I've got a burgandy one just like you Leslie :) The crackling can be repaired by cracking open the handset but you need a lot of patience to do a neat job as it is sonically welded! I temporarily stuck mine back as I want to put a plug socket in the flap before I close it up for good!
I had a phone once where this cracking noice appeared and have tried to open it by using a hard plastic card. I managed to open Beocom 6000 phones with this method but not with this 2500 type
What does "sonically welded" means?
Leslie:What does "sonically welded" means?
"Ultrasonic welding" is the correct term. The joint is heated with ultrasonic sound energy, which causes the plastic (or other materials) to melt together. It is not intended to ever open cleanly after that.

Thanks Mika!
Hi there.
Are you still looking for a 2500? i want to sell mine. I have had for many years but its been packed away in its box for the last 4 years. So not used much. Unfortunetly it dropped and there is a crack on the outerbody near the redial button. The phone works fine. If you want for parts then it will be perfect. Looking for £35. In the uk. Let me know if need any more info.
Thanks
