Guten Tag dear community,

i'm working on a Beocenter 2200 in very nice condition which i was about to sell. Now i find that the tapedeck doesnt work at all. I changed all the Belts, but somehow the tapedeck motor is not turning and i do not hear any clicks even with a tape inside the deck. Voltage on Motor is like 100mV. Fuses are all intact. Only if i press 'next' i would hear a click comeing from the deck, but it would not go back unless i turn the whole unit off. Could it be that something has blown from the faulty belts or is there something i am missing ?

Thank you in advance, any help is very much appreciated.

Could be a missing power supply voltage.

Tape inserted.
Press TAPE

Press >   Does the motor start?
Press >> Does the motor start?

No nothing, i printed out the schematic and i checked all the resistors and diodes around the Toshiba TC9143P. The IC goes through Pin 1-8 and 1-16 with multimeter, could there be a short at pin 8 ?

When tape button is pressed the light goes on but no click or motor running. If i press 'Next' the light for Next lights up and i hear a click and it gets stuck. I have to turn the whole thing off to reset. All the other tape related buttons do absolutely nothing. I also checked the tape insert switches and cleaned them.

Even when i turn the unit on the 'next' lights up and the relais clicks. Very strange...

Otherwise everything works fine

Since the belt was stuck could there be a fuseable resistor for the tape motor which has blown ?

Can you take readings of the voltages on 3TR15 all three pins when the motor is supposed to run?

on the motor itself its 170mV, by 3TR15 do you mean the 3 pins of TR15 ? both read 11,4V

3TR15 is TR15 on module 3.

Voltages on

B ?
E ?
C ?

with respect to ground.

Hi Dillen,

E = 11.7V  C = 0.5V   B = 11V gradualy dropping

when presing play

E= 11.75V    C= 0,8V.  B=11V droppping

When measuring the motor turned for a second but couldnt recreate it anymore

Thank you for your help Martin, very much appreciated

Where do you connect your meters ground terminal, when you take the readings?

The emitter pin of 3TR15 is connected to ground so should ALWAYS be at 0V.
So either ground is missing here or you are measuring wrong.

Sorry i think i used the wrong pin

E = 0v  C = 10,5v B = 0,6v

Hmm... that B voltage is just on the edge...
I would replace TR15 for a start. It's not a particularly critical type, something like a BC879 or similar darlington NPN would do fine.

Check also (or simply replace) the capacitors in the tape circuit. They are known to cause many problems. C7, C8, C9 C10...
