Hello oim1212, when your Philips 4K TV has a digital audio output, you surely can do so. Often modern TVs have optical audio out, that carries max 5.1 surround sound. This optical digital signal needs to be converted to a coaxial digital output which the BeoSystem 3 has inputs for. Such converters are easy to find and not very expensive. This is what I do with my BeoSystem 3 and an LG oled TV, and it works well. There are some more threads on the forum for this.
When the source for the 4K content you want to watch on the TV always is an external one (like an Apple TV that feeds into the Philips through HDMI), it could also be possible to use an audio extractor that feeds into one of the BeoSystem's HDMI inputs. See this thread: https://archivedforum2.beoworld.org/forums/p/44743/324363.aspx#324363
When you paid 50 dollars (am I reading your post correctly?) for a working BS3 AND a Beovision 7, then you have an absolutely incredible bargain for the BS3 alone already!
Good luck with getting it all working, let us know how you progress.
Hi, I guess 'till' means 'to' right? In that case you will need another one that converts the optical signal (toslink) coming out of the TV into a digital (coaxial) signal that goes into the BS3. So a 'TosLink till S/PDIF' converter
But please be sure about what kind of audio audio out connection your TV has first! It could be that it has a digital coaxial audio out (S/PDIF), in that case you only need a suitable coax S/PDIF audio cable.
Good deal for a BS3!
Good luck, Johan
