Hi all,
I'm considering a Beovision 8-26 for the kitchen and was reading through the user guide online where for HDMI it says: "HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) to be used in conjunction with an AV socket. For connection of an HDMI video source or a PC."
I assume that is just a weird way of saying it can be used like any normal HDMI port? I.e. I can plug-in my Apple TV4 and get both sound and video through the HDMI or is there something special to watch out for here?
Thanks,
Soren
You would only need an additional AV socket connection for one of three reasons:
- To provide a datalink connection, in the case where you have connected a B&O component (eg DVD2) that you wish to control using the TV's remote.
- To provide an analogue source that can be recorded - eg you have a video/hard disc recorder connected.
- If you want to distribute the video to other TVs (although I am not sure if the 8-26 has this functionality).
Otherwise the hdmi socket should meet your needs for a simple HD AV connection.
Cool - Thanks a lot Guy.
