Hello everyone, I have a (now old) white Beovision 8 with a Freeview module built in. I would like to be able to use the DTV button on my Beo4 to be able to activate a Sky Q set top box which is connected to the HDMI port, instead of it activating the Freeview module which it currently does. At the moment, the Sky Q box is connected using AV1 to the HDMI port but I have to use V.AUX to access it, which doesn't have a button on the remote control.
Does anyone know if there is a way to disable the internal module so that I can use the DTV button for the external input? I've read a few articles but haven't found anything that works.

Hi and welcome to Beoworld!
I think you may be able to do it by disabling the DVB module.
Press MENU 0 0 GO to get to Service Mode. Scroll to DVB SERVICE and change DVB CONNECTION to NO.
Then exit service mode, return to the CONNECTIONS menu and try assigning DTV to AV1/hdmi.
EDIT: You may not need service mode!! Go to the TV SETUP menu, go to TUNER SETUP and turn both tuners to off!
Thank you for your suggestions, I've had a look in the standard menu and the service menu, and I can't find either of the options that you've suggested - I wonder if there might be different versions of the software? I've taken photos of what I can see in my menus below. The first one shows the TV Setup Menu, the second one the Service Menu and the third and fourth two sub-menus off the Service Menu.
If anyone has any idea where the equivalent settings might be on my TV, I would be really grateful.

I would've expected a separate DVB menu if it had an internal freeview tuner - strange.
So if you simply go to the TV SETUP and then CONNECTIONS menu, what happens if you try to change the AV1 source setting to STB(DTV) - is that option available?
Failing that, can you change the AV1 source to DVD, and use that button to select your SkyQ?
Do you control the SkyQ box using the Beo4 remote - i.e is it set as an STB?
The image below provides your answer. You don't need to go into the Service or Customer Menu, just the standard Menu by pressing the Menu button on your remote.

Hello, thanks so much for coming back with more suggestions. To add a little more context, I've moved house recently. Before I moved, I had another Beovision 8 which I don't have space for here, and that did have different menus to this one (probably the ones Keith is referencing). On this model, if I go into the TV setup menu there is no OPTIONS option.
Guy asked if I used the Beo4 to control the Sky Q box, and the answer is that I don't on this television. I've got a Beovision 10 in the living room, which I do use that way. If it's of interest to anyone else, I managed to get the Beo4 to control the Sky Q box by using the KIRAQ Ctrl4Sky device which takes the IR signals output to a Sky+ box from the PUC controller from the Beovision 10 and converts these into network commands which can control the Sky Q box. This gets around the problem that the Beovision PUC outputs IR commands but the Sky Q box uses Bluetooth. I might consider buying another KIEAQ box for my Beovision 8 if I can get it all setup how I'd like.
I've tried Guy's suggestion and I can make the box so it is activated by the DVD button, which is an improvement over V.AUX. I think this would probably stop me using the Sky PUC though.
Thanks for your suggestion too, madskp, I've checked the menus and I don't have the INPUTS option where it suggests it is in the DVB guide. The DVB can only work with Freeview, I think, so perhaps it is a UK specific version with more limited options. The guide also makes reference to being able to perform a software update using a USB port, and I can't find that on the back of the TV either.
Looking in the DTV menu, the Freeview module reports the following information:

There is some other information in there, which I can provide if it would be helpful but those seem to be the most relevant points.
In the CONNECTIONS menu, I have AV1 through to AV4 but none of them allow the selection of DTV.
I've managed to transport and install all my B&O things from my old house, and this is the one thing that has beaten me! In my old house the TV was connected to a TV aerial and used Freeview, but in this one there is no TV aerial to connect to anyway.
I've searched on the Internet a bit more, and I think that this might be the module that is installed - the menu listing match mine, but there is no option to disable that I can seeL

I have noted from your previous posting that you have an Beovision 8-32 type 9550 which I can confirm is a standard version sold in many countries including the UK.
The reason you don't see the OPTIONS menu item is because 8-32 does not have it, but the 8-40 type 9560 does have a more extensive menu as you will see below. The top image is the menu of the BV8-40 and the bottom is the BV8-32
The BV8-40 and the 8-32 - apart from the fact that they look similar (in two sizes) - definitely are two rather different tv’s.
The 8-40 is the ‘modern’ tv (in fact the same as the BV10), where you can do a lot of stuff natively.
With the 8-32 you have to use workarounds, if you want that to behave....but there is no way to reassign the TV/DTV buttons there.

Perhaps you can use the DECODER trick to allow access to the SkyQ box by pressing the TV button. This would seem more appropriate than DVD, but again you won't be able to use the Sky PUC.

But I am not sure whether the BV8 will allow you to also select an hdmi input when changing the source to DECODER. I suspect not, but worth a try.

Hello everyone, thank you again for taking the time to look into other solutions for me. Knowing that the BV8-40 and BV8-32 are significantly different has helped me understand why a lot of what I had previously tried didn't work.
I've tried the decoder solution and it was possible to reprogram the TV button so that it was linked to a decoder that I setup in the connections menu, but as somebody referenced in the thread on that it seems to only work with a scart input, even when I had set the decoder up to use the HDMI connection in the setup menu. The Sky Q box can only output using HDMI so I couldn't make it work with that, but I tested it with another device with a scart output and I could make this display using the TV button. It would be a very nice solution if it could work with HDMI.
What I have achieved though is to activate the Sky Q box using the DVD button instead (thank you) and when set to DVD it's still possible to select the Sky controller to use with the PUC so it looks like I should be able to get control of Sky again using my Beo4 by getting another Kiraq box to do that . I'd originally gone for using V.AUX as I thought that was the only input selector that would let me activate the IR port to use the PUC.
I've got several Beo4s from products that 've owned over the years, but despite lots of variations between them, none of them have a physical V.AUX button.

Are you sure that they don’t have the V.AUX button.
Usually it is ‘hidden’ in the List and can be added.
If you add it, it could be placed as the first entry, when you push the List button.
Should be doable, I guess.......it means, you push the List button once - the V.AUX command will be in the display - then you push the GO button to activate V.AUX.
