I have a Beogram 1102. It works fine but the previous owner didn't replace the turntable platter spring, which meant the platter wasn't level and scratched the aliminiun plate. I want to replace or repair it but can't figure out how it comes away from the plynth. I don't want to force it. Any Ideas? Any help would be appreciated.

Normally it doesn't come off.
All service is done from below by removing the bottom plate.

Thanks Martin for your response. The reason I wanted to remove the aluminium faceplate was to replace it with another. It has an unsightly scratch on the left hand side where the record has been scrapping. The deck functions great.

The faceplate is glued quite strongly to the chassis.
You can separate it if you fit a solid and wide flat-bladed screw driver in from the sides near the fastening points and twist.
It takes some force.

The "new" faceplate will have to be glued on again.

Thanks Martin, I will give it a go after the Festivities are over. I will let you know. Good Luck for 2021.
