Hi,

I need your help with my system BV10-46 with BS/BM5 connected by masterlink in the same room, all speakers BL8000+BL6000 are connected to the BV10.

Yesterday I tried to connect a BeoLink Converter 1611 to the ML to get en AUX source. I did not succed with this attempt . After retrofitting I can not start my BS5 with the Beo4.

BS5 is set to AM Option 0 , as it was before installing the 1611.

When I change to AM Option 2 I may start the BS5 by using CD or RADIO, but the BV10 does not start the Labs and I get no sound.

Setting the AM Option on BS5 to 0, then using the CD or RADIO buttons on the Beo4 has no action.

I need your help because I'm not an ML master.

regards

gerard

With the BS5 at A.Opt 0, the BV10 should be in V.Opt2.  Have you checked that?

I suspect that the converter and the BS5 are competing for the role of Audio Master. I think that if you power-cycle the BV10, BS5, and converter that the converter should select for itself the role of link room audio slave.

Are you wanting the aux source to be in the same room as the BV10 and BS5? If so, the better solution is to use the Behringer UCA222 USB to A.Aux adapter. This will give you the connected audio source from the BS5 when you select AUX on the Beo4. This is the recommended solution by B&O for adding A.Aux to the BS5. You just plug it into the USB slot in the back of the BeoMaster 5.

Thank‘s for your help Guy

Yes they are set to :

BV10 to Option 2 to be seen in service menu on BV10 ( MENU MENU 0 0 GO )

BS5 to AudioMaster YES , AM-Option 0

What did the job to get it running again, was to power everything down an than power up :

1. BV10

wait 2 minutes

2. BS/BM5

wait 2 minutes

and everything us good again without the 1611 in the system.

This is described here, threat which i did not find anymore yesterday:

Thank you beojeff,

I got my system back to work by powering down the BV10 and BS5.

Yes the AUX is in the same room as BV10 and BS5 , so I will order a Behringer for the BM5.

Do you know which are the reasons to go for the UFO202 or the UCA222 ?

In the meantime, may be I will give the 1611 a second try.

Do you know how I would have to proceed?

Please excuse my earlier post. I misread and though you were trying to use an Active kit to add the PC source.

The 1611 is not at all what you need. Its purpose is to interface ML with the older MCL devices. The socket marked "AUX" is not for adding an a.aux source. For the BeoSound 5, the A.AUX source is achieved using the Behringer UCA222. The UCA222 is what B&O recommends.
