Hi

I'm wondering if anyone has managed to move an Eclipse,

I'm looking at getting a new carpet so the TV will need to be moved. My thoughts were to get it on to a small piece of carpet and drag it away into another room whilst the carper is fitted and then drag it back.

I presume there is no way of lifting it as a total unit, I'm not sure I want to be taking it apart.....

Any thoughts welcome

I managed to get a blanket underneath it and gently drag it about 1,5m. This was on a wooden floor, not sure if I would do this in your situation. Damaging something is way worse then disassembling and reassembling it again. There is a step by step video on vimeo:

What Fansastic said! Taking it appart is really easy and breaking stuff is really expensive compared to the effort you “save”. It’s only 6 bolts iirc and it’ll be way easier to move that way.

The eclipse is much easier to take off the screen than say an Avant 55, so if you gain the courage you could take off the screen and move them in two parts.

If you drag it you run the risk of perhaps ruining it. But in the Avant, say the case is more risky because of the glass front. The eclipse doesn’t have it.

You can’t pick it up in one piece unfortunately.

There are “skates” that the shop uses that is designed to help move the eclipse and avant. Maybe your dealer has one where you can borrow it from them. That’s if they are close etc.
