Hello all- on my TX2, the flywheel drags when the belt is attached. There are 3 posts coming up from the base of the unit. With the belt off, it turns perfectly, but when I attach the belt, the flywheel tilts towards the motor just enough to cause the flywheel to drag on the post near the motor. I downloaded the service manual , but there is nothing in there regarding this issue. The belt is brand new & it doesn't seem to be too tight. There does seem to be a little too much play once the flywheel is installed on the brass shaft- it just doesn't feel like it's seated properly . Any thoughts?
The brass "shaft" is acually the centre bearing and it has come loose on the base plate. This is normally caused by transporting the turntable without tightening the transit screws and removing the platter..
The easy way of re-tighening it is to grip the shaft with some plumbers grips and turn slightly to find a tight spot.. I know of no permanent fix other than replacing the complete sprung chassis with a good one from another turntable.
Others may know of an engineering solution to this quite common problem.

If that does not work. Tighten the transport screws, The flywheel has 3 taps where the aluminum platter rest upon, with a vernier measure the distance from there to the base plate on all 3 points, Press on the flywheel until you have the same measure on all 3 points, check several times until you are sure that the center bearing is exactly positioned, apply Epoxy between the bearing and base plate and around the bearing and leave to harden.
If you have to use a lot of force on the flywheel to get the bearing in the right position, you may bend the flywheel, in that case, get a piece of shaft, same diameter as the flywheel shaft, some 100-150 mm long, Take out the flywheel, use the shaft to bend in the direction you want, insert flywheel, measure, and so on until the bearing is in the right position.
Make sure the bearing and the shaft are lubricated so the flywheel or shaft comes in and out easily.
