Like the titles states;
Only 2 things don't work properly on my beocenter 7007. The remote and the record player.
I don't mind the remote not working.
The record player is a different story.
It starts turning as soon as the unit gets power. Don't have to turn on anything. It turns indefinitely until I unplug it from the mains.
It does detect records because when I push the PH button when there's no record on it, it shows the UUUU message. Pushing the STOP button doesn't do anything. And also the mmc will never be lowered on to the record. Even when I'm telling it to by moving it above the record and pushing PH.
When I push it down myself I can hear the music.
I hope someone can help me.
What happens if you (while the deck is running) move the tonearm by hand to where the lead-out groove would be on a record - will it fall back in correct sequence?
It could also be that someone, with the best of intentions, lubricated the cam wheel and the small actuator arms operating there.That's a definite DON'T.You can lubricate the wheel center and the grooves in the wheel where metal arms are running, but the small actuator arms MUST "rattle around" clean and dry.This goes for all Beogram and Beocenters with this type of cam wheel.

Cartridge fitted?Tracking force correctly set?
I have the mmc4.
If the tracking force means the counterweight then, I don't know. Because the boom doesn't drop down onto the record.
I've stacked a few records on top of each other to see if the audio works and that works just fine, although the boom resists to move inwards with the record.
You will have to set the tracking force.If it's set to zero now, the tonearm will not lower.Set it to 1.4g or 1.5g for MMC4.
I see what you mean. I did that, but there's a small bracket/arm holding the boom up, so it'll never drop down. I don't know if that is to mechanically move out of the way?
The small fork-like arm is what lifts and lowers the tonearm.
Thanks! Then we've found the problem. Because that thing doesn't do anything and is completely loose. It isn't connected to anything anymore :-(
Think I'll start looking for a donor 7007. Or are these easily sourced parts?
Depends on which part(s) is/are needed.
Hello! I've joined up to say this is fixable, sorted mine out today .I moved my Beocenter 7007 after deploying the transport screws, and when I got it to its new location (admittedly Wakefield, from South Wales..) it just spun the turntable upon powering on and wouldn't recognise any commands.
The problem is the mechanism has come out of sync so it doesn't know what state it should be in upon powering up (and that's why the tonearm lift appears to be floppy and broken - it isn't)
Look unter the turntable and it has the service diagram. You have to remove the service screws as described and open the turntable (back hinges up towards you, like the old Beemer bonnets)
Once you've lifted the table you'll see two big white plastic toothed cogs near the spindle in the center. Move these manually, giving them a few turns. You'll see the whole mechanism move and click into place.
It'll take a bit of trial and error but you'll get there. I fiddled with mine for about an hour and got there.
Have patience, you'll get it! Don't break it for spares, she's alive and well under there
