Hello everyone,

I have a running Beogram 4004 which however has an with the tone arm. Did anyone else had this problem before or do you know what the cause could be? Thank you for your help and insisghts!

I recorded a video of the issue.

Thank you for your help!

Hi,

Remove the Beogram deck plates and repeat the test so you can observe what is actually going on below deck.
It looks like there could be some obstruction in the tangential arm path.
If you acquired the Beogram 4004 from someone else did they give you any service history?
I would recommend going through all of the service manual adjustments. Especially the mechanical ones. The Beogram 400x series are a pretty rugged turntable and will often play through problems even when they are not adjusted properly. So going through the service manual adjustments is always a must so that you are assured you are experiencing a properly set up Beogram.

What sonavor just said.

- Something is blocking the carriage.
- Dust, dirt and dried out lubricants in a nice mix on the threaded shaft and/or carriage rails.
- Belt slipping.
- Electronic fault.
- Any combination of the above.

All very common.
All of these decks will need a thorough restoration by now rather than discrete repairs.
