Hi,
The pointer stick beo4 remote for a Beoplay V1 is lost. Please advise on affordable alternate options.
I have a BV7 Beo4 with the go button but I read this wont operate the V1. I also have a logitech harmony ultimate remote. I only see one BEO4 profile on the compatability list.
Is anyone aware of what harmony profile emulates a stick based beo4 or would an owner with this beo4 and the harmony out there be prepared to "learn" the beo4 stick IR codes or create a V1 remote profile.
Any help or advice greatly appreciated.

If connected to a network can't you control it with the B&O app?
Michael:Set the tv to BeoRemote one mode and use your tv in that way with the harmony perhaps. Or just buy a new remote. It’s not so expensive and you can get a used one. Or sell it as is and get something else like an oled :)

Hmmm....I would not sell a V1 just because of a missing remote :-(
The other recommendation you made however, is great:
just buy another (pre-used) Beo4/navi.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
I have only used the Logitech Harmony with a Beosystem 7000, but IIRC their configurator wants you to choose the *controlled device*, not a type of remote to emulate. So if they list the B&O V1 as a supported device, that means they programmed IR codes for all its underlying functions, and the presence or absence of the navi stick is irrelevant. That said, I would not wish their default interface on anyone -- only if you are lucky or willing to custom configure, will the arrows be on the same screen as anything else that matters. Also, I do not believe that the Harmony can learn the B&O codes from a remote, as you requested. Logitech have programmed the codes, yes, but not using their Harmony as an input device. If you really need the navigation, I would purchase a used Beo4, as suggested.
Thanks for your advice everyone. I just bought a reasonably priced beo4 navi with a failing lcd screen.
I was given this V1, I've yet to switch it on as the previous owner had it in a garage for a month. Felt damp so I'm letting it dry out before switch on. What should I expect at powerup. If it needs an update what is the procedure in 2020. Does B&o offer auto updates. I saw no firmware downloads on the V1 support page.
I also have my older style BV7 beo4 though not on hand. Will I be able to at least switch on the V1 with the old beo4
Thanks
So....if you have both Beo4’s at hand you can (easily) take these apart and make one working unit.....in fact you’d just need to swap the display from the ‘old’ Beo4 to the ‘new’ Beo4/navi.
All the best wishes for you getting the V1 to work!
Some of these have an issue with the small built-in backup battery (that can leak).
Even if it is ok by now, I’d recommend that it should be replaced - it should be a rather inexpensive fix considering that rhe V1 was given to you.
It has been some years since the last update - and there will be no more.
Updating however, is very easy - once the V1 is connected to a (wired) network, you can go into the aettings to initiate the sw download over internet....if there is any.
You can also download the needed PUC codes, if you want to be able to control a connected device (e.g. an AppleTV) with the Beo remote.
As always - I would recommend a reset of the tv.!For this reset of your V1 go to default settings, then bring up the REGIONAL SETTINGS menu and select another country. You will be asked to confirm the reset. All settings will be deleted and you must go through first-time setup, follow on-screen instructions.
The user guide can easily be found on the B&O website (or just google for it).
Beware! The tv can be pincode protected (or not) - if it is, you will need the pin code from the former owner, otherweise you won’t be able to use the tv.
Thank you so much for the excellent reply and advice.
I managed to switch it on with my old beo4. It wants the pincode. Can enter numbers but the centre go button doesnt enter so for now I'll wait for the navi Beo4
Is B&o no longer able to help with a master reset if I provide the serial number. The tv is legitimate but Im unable to reach the original owner.
Thanks again

That is a question, that I am not able to answer.
You should contact a B&O dealer in your area to see what can be done.
Mostly they can identify the unit via the serial number registred at B&O.
Good luck.
Got it working, The Navi remote is good and switched to mode 1.
But now I see it has ancient 2012 firmware. Unable to connect it via ethernet and no wifi antenna
Nor can I find a way to download it, or puc' for usb install.
Any firm advice on upgrading an old V1 to avoid freezing. I have seen odd posts with warnings but also mixed reports which is confusing.
Thanks again for all the help.
