A couple of years ago I got a BC 8002 HX-Pro, for a kiss and a bottle of wine, along with the message that it did not do what the makers had in mind when developping this cassette deck.In seach of donor applliances I acquired 4 more items, also with problems.By exchanging and swapping mechanisms as well as buying new belts I managed to get one running properly: the BC6000 HX-PRO. This one also did something positive with the mechanism from the BC8002 HX-PRO.The BC8000 provides some positive response with mechanisms from the BC8002 HX-PRO and from the BC8002.All this summarized in attached picture of a matrix, which I hope is selfexplanatory. If somebody feels the urge to take a look and is willing to help me, than is this the question:Do not pay attention to items 1, 2 and 5, I would like to know if the missing activity of decks 3 and 4 is due to mechanical faults (idler wheels, lubrication) or weak electronics somewhere; I have tested with all combinations of belts.Aad
Hi Aad,Whenever I have restored a Beocord 8004 or Beocord 9000 I always start with disassembly and cleaning of the mechanical cassette assembly. While it is apart I replace the rubber wheels and the two belts which I always get from Martin at Beoparts. He has already done the research and sourced correct replacements. The only wheel that I haven't found a new replacement for is the thrust roller (or idler wheel). I am hoping Martin starts to supply that one as well :-). The replacement of those rubber wheels are a key ingredient into the Beocord fast forward and fast reverse operations working again.-sonavor
Hi Sonavor (nice name),Thank you for your "encouraging" reaction, but such a diassembling job is for me far from a piece of cake. I'd better stick to changing belts and replacing electronic components: all those tiny screws, bolts and springs make me decide to stay far from such an operation, although I am confident that I will be able to loosen*) all those parts, but putting all those things back later on will give me to many sleepless nights.
*) I did this once and I what was left among other bits was this wheel. Is this the one that you mention in the above reply?
If so I can send it over to you: drop me a pm and it will be yours.
Aad
Hi Aad,
That isn't what I meant by the thrust roller. The thrust roller looks like this -
Hi Sonavor,
Also this one is among my spares.
