Electrified... Please get off my back.. I think many have tried to do that on my behalf. I want to consider your perspective as I consider mine. No one has to be right or wrong.

I mean I did consider that my idea might not work so.... What's your point?

Oh, you added this bit:

wonderfulelectric:
Besides it is completely casual what I am planning to do. You never know until you try. So what is your excuse for putting me down? Getting some ego trip?

I know it's "completely casual". That's the problem. You're so casual about the design and the process needed, that you simply skip the entire thing and copy/paste some or the other, and then approach companies with your gluing-together-of-things. And when you get turned down for obvious reasons, you react to it like a little child throwing a tantrum, and you do this in public for all to see, no less.

As for me being on an "ego" trip?`What are you on about? Where in this thread have a been singing praise to myself? I haven't tried claiming I'm a designer, an architect or anything of the sort.

And that's the point: Even someone like me knows a bit about what good design entails, and that it can sometimes be quite a long process. At least there's nothing "casual" about it. It's hard work like most anything else if your aim is to get a good result.

Screw that. I will get off your back when I damn well please.

Ah, yes, we're back to your favourite excuse: All opinions are equally valid.

wonderfulelectric:

Did you really? Why did you then act like a little child after they turned you down? Your "idea" is that B&O and companies like them should open their arms and welcome your "ideas" which consist of finding items you like and suggest to combine them.  You still haven't figured out why that won't work. Otherwise you wouldn't keep posting things that makes most normal people cringe on your behalf.

I am not getting paid for the my "idea" or have been considered yet. Of course I need to keep it casual because who wants to be invest too much effort in something that might not even be considered? Jeez

Okay if you were of help you would have provided me with some contacts.... Apparently you are not one of those...

At least that IT guy I knew was immediately helpful and thought was good idea. Why are you investing so much time in putting me down?

And tantrum? I don't remember calling your ideas or your replies stupid.

Your inputs are well taken.... Ever heard of the middle path? Why so extreme?

Lol... I thought it was funny how we both have electric in our usernames too.

What role is he supposed to play if this is a movie? My evil twin?

And electrified... The copying and pasting and putting things together is what they call a mood board in a design school. Yes I have been to design school.... I just didn't want to use that to... Ideas must come from somewhere no?  And if you think about it I am really paying an homage to the designers behind the A9. Why would I bother if I didn't like it?

Thank you, so your excuse is now that you won't work on anything, even to get started, before someone is paying you. Good luck with that.

wonderfulelectric:
Okay if you were of help you would have provided me with some contacts.... Apparently you are not one of those...

Even if I knew the CEO privately, I wouldn't give you his contact details. Why would anyone recommend your not even half-formed "idea" to anyone? You're wasting their time, and I for one, never give out contact details if I know they're going to reflect badly back on me.

wonderfulelectric:
At least that IT guy I knew was immediately helpful and thought was good idea. Why are you investing so much time in putting me down?

I'm not "investing" much time. I just thought I'd waste a little time this early evening. And I find it a bit funny to see you squirm and come up with excuses for why you can't be bothered to do some proper design, or even come up with a well thought-out idea.

wonderfulelectric:
And tantrum? I don't remember calling your ideas or your replies stupid.

I give your "ideas" and self-aggrandising comments of yours the respect they deserve. No, the "tantrum" is when you spend a whole lot

of posts talking about how B&O knows jack-*** about marketing, comparing yourself to some pop-culture designers (of clothing and bags, lol), and think therefore you don't need an education. And then you're comparing yourself to Leonardo Da Vinci - the ultimate renaissance man. Someone who lived centuries ago.

wonderfulelectric:
Your inputs are well taken.... Ever heard of the middle path? Why so extreme?

Other people have tried that with you, and it just doesn't seem to penetrate. And, as I said: I give your ideas and opinions all the respect they deserve.

LOL, paying homage by copying other people's stuff.

As for your "mood board". Yes, you may very well use that. Especially within the clothing industry and interior desing. But, really, you don't do industrial design that way, and then approach companies with your "mood board".

As I seemed to have mentioned before: Design is a process. You think you can skip the process and get paid because you have found a few things you like and copy/pasted them. Hell, you haven't even bothered to come up with a quick photoshop to show the concept. No, that would be way too much work unless someone pays you.

2) Arne Jacobsen is not a "new designer". He was a world renowned architect and designer, who lived from 1902-1971. He is one of a handful of people who defined "Scandinavian design" (i.e. Danish design, basically). Other people in the same category include Hans Wegner, Poul Henningsen, and Børge Mogensen. Big names internationally.

Here here electrified, got a egg chair, and series 7 chairs and some fritz hansen.
I thought wonderful electric  went to design school? He probably thinks le corbusier, is a new designer, after claiming he has cassina furniture.I am away to read vanity fair now instead of the sun,to learn some knowledge about fashion and design.,as I dont understand anything in this thread lol.
I know how to make money though, and spending all day reading magazines and daydreaming earns you nothing.

Hehe, yeah. I can't count how often I have been approached to either ghost write a book or produce an album for free, in exchange for getting my name on the thing.  I have never even entertained the thought. They stand to gain much more than I could ever gain, and besides, I'm not that hungry.

With that said, though, I do help people if I think it's a good idea and/or want to support them, despite them not having money (start up bands, for instance, a start-up actor needing help to write a resume or a press release and such).]

I can only imagine the tossers B&O and other places - especially clothing design houses - have to sort through. The ones who can't be bothered to do anything, not even a bit of photoshop, is quickly dealt with, though.

1) I can't row. The water is solid.

2) You're on a "materialistic" forum, dealing with hardware. Why aren't you elsewhere then?

3) I'm discussing design in general (and architecture, for that matter), and I don't see that as purely materialistic. I enjoy good design, and so does a lot of people on this very forum.

Oh my! you guys make me feel so important. Why is the attention all on me all the time. lol...

PS. regarding the design sketch of course I am not posting it on here plus it is not even ready. When it is ready I am submitting it directly to.... why ruin the mystique?

I gave you enough hints already.

Suddenly reading magazines and daydreaming are crimes? Who reads the Sun?What's in the Sun? Is it a local paper?

PS. Vanity Fair readers...... nevermind..... Somebody might pour acid on my face or say something along the lines like oh hasn't your face been poured enough acid etc....

I read the Herald though...

Look at that, you're giving me all this intention, I must be important.

I have news for you: You're at least as unimportant as me around these parts. The difference being, I have not lost touch with reality.

As for the rest, well, I'm tired for today, so I'll just note how you now are going to make "a sketch", whereas before you couldn't be bothered to even do that, unless you were certain to get paid.

With the three links I posted I think you guys are smart enough to figure out how the end design will be like....

Plus oh please... It might never be made into production... Okay I promise after my idea gets officially turned down by my contact.... I will post it.... Then again will you guys still be interested? Interested in saying.... mean things more like it. I am not that sadistic. Thank you

Erm... So far you have been very involved in all of my posts or threads....

Plus I said I felt important... Not that I am... In my opinion everyone is important. Thus no one truly is...

Lucky b astard! I just can't muster much party mode. Music is almost always awful, loads of smells (I'm hypersensitive to perfume, mostly), and in general I just reach a stage where I think "I'd rather be at home".

Man, I feel old seeing that written out.

My view is that there's always someone in the room who is an OK guy and worth talking too. It's a matter of luck how many bores and nutters you speak to first (and spend the rest of the evening avoiding) before you find him/her. I also reckon, given my age, I'm unlikely to be invited to many (younger) parties where the music is too far outside my comfort zone!Big Smile

Ermm.... Not true... Tons of hors d'oevres, canapes and free booze in fashion parties fab music too. If I have it my way and I will have either have champagne from Louis Roederer or Perrier Jouet with caviar blinis . Anyway... I am daydreaming again....

But totally if I my idea ever makes it B&O will sure to have tons of exposure... The party will be named "Get Playful with BeoPlay".... Since you know my design is going to be playful too...

Perhaps have the original designer show up for a joined signing session too? That will be super fun and super chic.

Let's not get hopes up... I don't think it will be happening but I will try.

I am not exactly a socialite BTW. If I am a celeb I am more of the Tilda Swinton/ Lana Del Rey/ Florence Welch/ Joaquin Phoenix/ Robert Downey jr type.... lol... I am throwing in more names for safe measure.

And like I told you before I have a 5 yr plan. Only a little more than 4 yrs left now. The clock is ticking.... I do want to be a contributing part of the society.... But isn't everyone contributing already?... Well I guess I am just following my selfish desire to be independent whatever that entails...

WonElec, a socialite covers wanna-be somethings too.I even posted a link with a very brief explanation.

As for your comment of "if I were a celeb, I'd be". You're not a celeb, and you can't crawl into the skin of a celeb. You can only be yourself.

Also I do go to the gym everyday as I am a boxer, was good as a youth, but just train now.As I stay close to lake district I mountain bike and fell walk. You are presuming we all sit at a keyboard!
