HI.

I have a customer who has replaced their B&O TV with a Panasonic. The B&O TV had a BeoCenter2 & Socket unit connected to It which in turn is connected to an ML system. In the same room (and not accessible with extra cables) is a BeoLink Passive that is driving some old B&O speakers.

These speakers via the passive used to have the TV sound coming through them. Obviously since the B&O TV was removed there is no ML connection to the system to do this but I assume that this can be rectified by connecting the Panasonic TV to the Aux audio inputs on the  Socket Unit.

I have connected this up but don't know how to access the Audio input on the remote control or on the BeoCenter2 itself.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Skinj,

You will have to activate the A-AUX in the menu of the BC2 - and add A-AUX in the list of the Beo4 to gain access in the linkroom.

Some people don't read userguides - but actually the userguides from B&O are very helpfull.

You can download them from the B&O-homepage.

Grrr! Millemissen

Thanks for the reply,

I have already downloaded the full English manual for the Beocenter2 but it doesn't say anywhere (that I can see) how to activate the A-Aux setting. Do I need a TV connected to the Beocenter2 to do this (customer now using a Panasonic Blu-ray as their video play back device) If so, will a standard scart cable do the job? Or it it done via the display on the Beocenter 2 itself?

I've also read through the Beo4 Remote manual, fairly sure I now know how to add the A-Aux on there.

I do hate having to ask questions on forums but at the same time don't want to drive miles & miles, spend hours in the customer home without knowing what to expect. Wherever poss I will read all the manuals before posting questions. Also with limited familiarity on B&O having not dealt with them for 15 yrs it's tricky to get my head around the way they work again.

Many thanks

Thanks Ralf, really helpful. Had that downloaded but didn't spot page 9.

Do These menus appear on an attached TV or on the Beocenter 2's status display screen?

Cheers

Since I don't own a Beocenter I don't know - but I would guess on the Beocenter 2 screen (no need to have a TV AND there was an audio only Beocenter 2 as well).

On the display of the BC2!

The connection will have to be line-out from the Pana to the A-AUX-in of the Socket Unit.

If the Pana has only digital-out, you will need a converter to analog sound as well.

The Socket Unit and the BeoLink Passive must be connected through MasterLink.

If you want to use the BC2 in the room with the Pana to improve the sound, you can connect BeoLab-loudspeakers  - alternatively passive speaker connected to a BeoLink Passive/MCL2P - to the Socket Unit.

For your understanding: a BC2 connected to a B&O-tv acts as a videosource, DVD through scart - and plays audiosources, Radio etc through MasterLink, remote-controlled via the tv. You can also access the audiosources through the touchpanel of the BC2.

The BC2 might be pin-coded - in that case be sure to have access to the code when you are with your costumer.

Greetings Millemissen
