Hi I have owned a Beogram RX for the past year that I've come to love and am hoping to keep it for a long time. It's had a persistent problem that's gotten worse recently. When I start a record, the tonearm will drop into place, and then raise up again and return to its original position. Usually I can hear a quiet "click" just before it does this. Sometimes it does this 8-10 times before I can finally get it to stay on the record.
In searching the forums I've found some advice to fix this on an RX2, by cleaning some switches under the platter. But the RX seems to be different underneath (see picture). Is solving this problem just a matter of cleaning something in there? And if so, what should I clean and how should I clean it?

Doing a little more digging on this and some places seem to suggest the problem might lie in the circuit board? Has anyone had experience with this? I love the turntable and would like to keep it for a long time. Willing to do some work to keep it in good repair.
Sounds like the "return position sensing" needs to be reset. Do you have a user manual with a trouble shooting section? I think I remember having to do this a long time ago... might have involved manually moving the arm to the return groove at the end of the record, but not positive...(I have two of these RX turntables I just had the rca cables repaired on, but havent used them for 15 years and cant find the user manuals)
Thanks for the suggestion. I will play around with the tonearm a bit. Unfortunately I do not have a manual. I have found a "user manual" online, but it is only like 5 pages long, and does not offer any troubleshooting, show how to take it apart, or anything. I suppose I need a "service manual"? Can't find one for the RX anywhere, though.
