Hey guys. I’m finally getting on the vinyl band wagon with a beautiful Beogram 1202 in cosmetically perfect condition. Got a new belt on it today and everything works fine mechanically. But there is a knocking sound from the big rotor wheel that connects to the motor. It’s like it’s unstable or something. When I turn the rotor wheel away from the motor the noise stops. But the sound is not caused by the motor as it spins quitetly without the belt mechanism. As you can see from the video when the motor stops rotating it’s like there is a missing pin on the top of the pulley wheel that has the belt around it. Do anyone have an idea what it could be?

There is no pin missing. There should be only one pin.

Belt looks wrong - is it red??? If off Ebay return it or throw it away and get the right thing from Beoparts-shop.
A too tight belt or a belt with the wrong material density will cause noise.

Has the rubber on the idler wheel hardened and deformed? It can also cause noise, particularly in combination with a wrong belt.
New wheels are also available from Beoparts (though currently out of stock).

Thanks for quick answe. Makes sense with the rubber issue. There is only an extremely thin layer of rubber left on the wheel. It’s like it’s painted on. And very hard where it contacts the motor...

the belt is from a repair guy. Thought it was fine
