Hi guys,
I hope someone can help…
I recently came across a thread stating that you could turn on a BL Passive – ML/MCL converter by shorting two pins on the power link socket. But I can't find it anymore.I'm accessing the options of use of those devices but I don't want to use an external power source only to feed the power pin.
Thanks.
Hi,
connecting Pin 2 (ground) with Pin1 starts the Amp.
disconnecting switches off

I own two passive ML/MCL converters and I am also interested in using them as standalone amps for CX100's.Now I am a bit confused, because I thought that they needed a small current of about 5 volt to run?Reading about connecting pin 1 and 2 makes me wonder if I can just make a DIN cable to Phono/RCA jacks and then add some kind of switch to connect those two pins..?Or will I still need the 5 volts? Thanks!

You are right - never ever connect (short circuit) pin1 and pin2 on a Powerlink socket - Beolink passive Powerlink socket needs about 5V on pin1, connect the -pin of the power supply (dc) to pin2 (Powerlink ground).
See the beotech link in the post above.

Thank you!
I just realized that I do have a white 'mcl transceiver' and a remote.
will this MCL transceiver attached correctly to the ML/MCL Converter make it a standalone amp, that can be controlled from the remote?
The white MCL transceiver is for an MCL 2A box or an MCL 2 AV box - for the ML/MCL converter or Beolink passive you will need the round silver IR transceiver with DIN connection.
