I've been trying to connect my PlayMaker to my Beovision 10 so I can get sound from the build in speaker in the TV and from the speakers that is connected to the Playmaker, but I only get some sound in the speakers connected to the Playmaker when there is a song playing or loud noises explosions in movies, but no sound when there is only people talking. The speakers turns on and are active but turns off if there is no "high sounds" in the thing I'm watching and then turns back on when there is "high sounds". The build in TV speaker works just fine and no problem there.

The setup look like this:

Beovision 10 - with a DIN-adapter/3,5 minijack in the output for FRONT - Powerlink. From the 3,5 mini-jack I have a 3,5 minijack - RCA cord. And the RCA goes to the LINE IN in the Playmaker. And from the Playmakers output for RJ45 I have BeoLab2 and 2x BeoLab 6000 connected. When I stream through AirPlay to the playmaker the BeoLab2 and 2x BeoLab 6000 works perfect.

I have the Beovision set to FRONT BeoLab 6000.

Anyone that have any tips on how I can get this to work?

Best regards :)

(Are you talking about a BV10-40 or a BV10-32?)

I certainly haven’t any tips there - and I doubt, that this will ever work.

BUT......why do it that way?

I suppose, that you want to listen to music (via AirPlay)?

And I suppose, that you want the best sound from your tv/connected sources?

Just connect the speakers as per user guide to the tv and set the distances etc etc.

Then use an analog input on the BV10 (could be the AV3) for the connection of the Playmaker.

For this you’d need a RJ45/PL to Phono/Cinch L/R adapter cable.

Set the Playmaker to fixed line-out and to Option 0......and hide it away!

Configuring the input (where the Playmaker is) will give you the option of assigning a button/command on the Beo4.

All you have to do afterwards, when you want to listen to airplayed music, is to hit that button and start streaming.

Note! You can use the line-in port on the Playmaker for an extra analog source e.g. a turntable, if tou need such.

The line-in connection has autosense, meaning that it will switch to that input, once there is an incoming signal.

However, if all you need is AirPlay, it would be much easier to connect an AppleTV4 to one of the HDMI’s on the BV10.

Don't know why I complicated the connections so much, but what you suggested sounds exactly what Im looking for!

I both have an old Apple TV gen 2 (hidden away because I have an Android box now instead) and a Playmaker (from an old setup with projector + BeoLab6000 + BeoLab2).

Is there a possibility to not have to turn on the screen when I just want to listen to music? Is there any benefit for choosing Playmaker over AppleTV for just streaming music through AirPlay if I don't want the screen of the TV to turn on?

I must admit that I not never good on setting up my Beo-system, so If you can guide me through what I need to press on the remote it would be wonderful :)

As already mentioned - the easiest way would be to use an ATV box connected via HDMI.

If you don’t want the screen to turn on, you can use the AV command (from the Beo4) before you push the actual button for that input - e.g AV and DTV.

Actually how you do that, depends on the version of the Beo4, that you use.

(For adding entries from the LIST on the Beo4, please consult the User Guide).

Or you can use the command P.Mute in order to mute/turn off the screen once you have strted the source.

Perfect thank you :)

Is there any way to get the speakers to start without having to have to press any buttons on the remote (like how it works with the PlayMaker when you start to stream through AirPlay?

I have added AV in the LIST menu on the Beo4-remote, but nothing happens when I then press DVD (the source the ATV is connected to). What am I doing wrong?

Got the AV-command to work now, had to put the Beovision 10-40 in option 2, then it worked!

No!

Glad it works now - you get used to having to push the buttons - you need the remote for volume controlling anyway.
