Just noticed that that all but one version of the A9 were sold out on the B&O online store. Talked to my local store as well but they didn't have any info.

Are they just running low on the parts for production(like some other audio companies) or is it something more exciting happening?

All products - even those with frequent deep discounts like the BS Edge - are in short supply atm. I guess it's more likely to be due to Covid than due to product changes. However in some Launch articles there was talk of B&O moving all speakers to the new Mozart platform in due course. A9 seems to be a prime candidate, having been the only speaker to be released on *all* B&O streaming platforms...

B&O will realase 5 products from January - Jnue,

Most likely these are

Beoplay HX

Beosound Level

Beosound Explore

Beoplay EQ

And the new gaming Headset,

So I would not count A9 to be updated the next 6 month.

The Stage is also sold out,

I think that B&O are selling a lot more than they thought they would.

Beovision Harmony 77" 2nd Gen, Beolab 5, Beolab 17, Beosound 1, Beoplay M3, Beoplay Portal, Beoplay Earset, Beoliving Intelligence

Fantastic news for B&O! Very pleased if this is the case.

B&O products are V1-32, BS2, H95, E8 and an Essence remote.
11-46 now replaced with Sony A90J 65”, Sony HT-A9, Sony UBP-X800M2 and Sony SRS-NS7.

That list omits the Beolab 28, but maybe it's just a Beolab 18 design-wise.

Yep! My dealer told me a couple of months ago they were struggling to get the Stage and it was in very limited supply. He said it's one of their most popular B&O products - I guess a lot of people stuck at home buying soundbars!

Mind you, there's a worldwide component shortage, so don't read too much in to this stuff. Audi announced they were cutting back Q1 production as they can't get a chipset required for their cars, Apple M1 products have longer-than-normal wait times etc etc.

The Beosound Level is also sold out in gold, with and without Google, and almost in black without google.

Hi EJ,

It looks as if, This Year is going be a Good Year for the Company! They’re Planning Opening Up More Stores and Coming Out with a lot of New Products! I hope they come out with exciting Product that will fly out the shelves! There’s too many BeoPlay’s, we need the Real Stuff, like BeoSystem And a Better BeoSound! The Stage has been a Good Seller for them. They should reproduce it, and Make it dual band! Let’s hope for Better this Year!👌🏿

You won't see 'real stuff' like a BeoSystem or Sound. Too hard to make in terms of software and not enough demand from the general public, plus too many controllers such as your phone and Google Voice makes most of these redundant for quick or basic control. Sorry, but B&O is moving in to a different area and old-skool B&O users are likely to have to move with them. Can't expect B&O to push resources in to a new Moment or similar.

What *could* coming is a Stage v2, or so my dealer claims. He claims there could be a more expensive version which would support additional B&O speakers, so you can have a surround sound system. It's one of the most requested features for the current Stage.

If the Level is sold out, how come no one on the forum has yet fessed up to buying one?

As much as I respect John from Manchester and Mikipedia for the work they do, I'd like to hear more opinions on the sound quality.  I did speak to a dealer, and they said it's sound quality was similar to the BS1 whereas these two are claiming it to be much better.  My closest dealer is 400 miles away so I can't really drop into a shop and listen.  There still seem to be plenty in the US.

As for the products being sold out, I'd say it's probably a combination of B&O being conservative in light of the world situation (and their own financial situation), the products being popular and the component sourcing issues Moxey mentioned.  With respect to the Stage, it's been a long time since I've seen so much activity on non-Beoworld forums about a B&O product.  It's definitely a hit.

Literally working on a sound comparison between bs2 and Level atm, will be out tonight or tomorrow. Stick out tongue

Level really holds it’s own against a bs2, so a bs1 is not really the competition

June? Just before holidays? Then I expect a launch more as of September.

Anyway... a possible successor to the BL20... very curious about that!

You Mean Vacation from Home?

I think, B&O has been able to do well because of the COVID! Most B&O Owners were busy working and they didn’t get time to Enjoy their Sweat, until COVID kicked in and now, everybody is working from home that’s why the business as gone up! I don’t think, we can be able to get normal by June to go on Vacations. So that Said, more business for the B&O!

What did you conclude personally?

I love the BS2. I have an Edge, Stage, Balance and BS1, in addition to the BS2 and they don't come close to the BS2 for overall balance (including the Balance)!

It's a longer answer so I'll do a proper review on shortly, but they are basically trading blows. Personally I like the bass more on the bs2 but the mids and stereo is better balanced on the level, even goes for the stereo image of the bass on the level. I'll give more of my thoughts on it soon.Big Smile

Sounds good. I'd be amazed if the Level can beat a BS2, which is double the price. I'd have thought the Level was more like the A6 in performance. Remember to try and distance yourself from the love, too, as I find if I really adore something it naturally 'sounds' better as a result Big Smile

I own the BS2 so if the love overshadows you win Stick out tongue

but no, I understand what you mean and I always try to. It'll be a real toss up anyway because it depends on preference and use case really, it's tight!
