Hi Forum,
I want to add a second Beolab 2 to create a 7.2 surround setup, my TV is BV7-55 (mk1)
The first Beolab 2 sub is connected to the Sub socket on the TV. however I cant find a second sub socket. If I connect the second beolab2 to the other powerlink sockets, the TV thinks the beolab2 is a normal speaker, and that does not give the correct sub sound.
My question is, where do I connect the second Beolab2, so that it gets the correct sound?
In the TV menu, Photo below, I can see that a second subwoofer can be added, however at the moment I cannot control it (the field is greyed out), on the second photo, you can see the menu where I can choose the position of the 2 subwoofers, so the TV should be able to control 2 subs (The menu text is in Danish)
My 7.2 line up:
BV 7-55 (Mk1), Front: Penta Mk3, Side: Beolab 6000, Rear: Beolab 4000, Subs: 2x Beolab 2
I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think the greyed out beolab 2 is for when you have cinema setup where you same speakers but in different layout, example front right is then left rear. It is explained in manual for beovision 7. I'll guess you could use a b&o splitter cabel from Sub out beovision 7 and then have 2xbeolab connected.

Sure, but you won’t be able to set up the subs individually that way.
Depending on where they are placed, there should be different values for distance and gain, when you have multiple subs.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Correct its for Cinema Mode.In Cinema mode one can have one loudspeaker setup, In BV mode another.But in both setups only one Subwoofer: In each setup each loudspeaker distance can be defined.This means that each loudspeaker will have two positions and distances.

Answer is that BV7-55 does not support 7.2 Surround setup (2 subwoofers), however a splitter cable (https://www.av-connection.com/?PGr=1204) will make it possible to drive 2 subs out of the Sub socket, but with the same distance/placement configuration - which is not ideal, but could work. I will tell you my experience when I have tried it out.
You can use multiple subs on a BV7 - the Powerlink socket delivers enough power to start 2 BL2s. Or use BL5s for sub - so you have two 15inch 1 kW ice powered speakers for LFE channel.
And no the greyes out Beolab 2 is not about Cinema- or TV mode. Every Powerlink socket has two channels for stereo mode, as we all know, LFE channel is mono (as the center channel is), so the first PL socket just uses one audio output (the left one, right one is greyed out).
So it looks like the BV7 on the picture is connected:
PL #1 BL2 (mono)
PL#2 left no speaker (ingen), right BL Penta
PL#3 left BL Penta right no speaker
PL#4 left BL 6000 right BL 4000
PL#5 left BL 6000 right BL 4000
PL#6 left no speaker right no speaker
I doubt that this will work properly....(?)

Hi, the manual confirms this:
"1 (SUB) - For connection of up to two Bang & Olufsen subwoofers. A cable splitter for such connections is available from your Bang & Olufsen retailer."
You just need that splitter / check with Steve @ SoundsHeavenly.

It work like this. The subwoofer signal is "mono" meaning that DIN pin 3 & 5 in BL 2 are connected to each other internal in BL 2. However the DSM module 32 can split the output signal from the Subwoofer output on DIN Pin 3 to the first subwoofer, and DIN Pin 5 to the second subwoofer.One can not use a standard PL splitter cable. The cable to be used, must use a standard PL DIN plug to the DSM module..And then two shielded cables, Cable one is connected to DIN Pin 1-2-3-4. Cable two is connected to DIN Pin 1-2-4-5.Then the two female DIN PL plug to be used..Cable One DIN Pin 1-2-3-4, (Unit One "left") to be connected to the female DIN Plug OneCable Two Din Pin 1-2-4-5. (Unit Two "Right") to be connected to the female DIN Plug Two.Then DSM mudule 32 will now detect that two units are connected, and not one unit as DIN Pin 3 & 5 are separated, and not going to the same Subwoofer.Then each subwoofer unit can be controlled.One can use a standard PL splitter, but then One have to cut the cable connected to DIN Pin 3, in female plug one, and cut cable connected to DIN Pin 5 in female DIN plug two.
