I have a BeoGram 1000 which came with a SP6 cartridge.

So in this case the cartridge has a metal lug to be mounted in non-B&O head shells (see picture)
For the BeoGram 1000, it does not really make a good fit design-wise.

So my question?
Is it possible to remove the metal lug, without damaging the cartridge?

You will have to replace the coil (the magnetic part with the connecting pins).
You can move the needle to the other coil.

Just to be sure I understand you right Martin ...

I think you mean the remove the screw at the bottom and shifting of the cover with the stylus, and placing it on another cartridge. Is that what you mean?
