The volume level between the radio and the music from my iPhone coming in via Tape, is very different. The radio volume is much louder, so the volume coming from my iPhone is quite low. Even if I put the volume on my iPhone to maximum. So if I switch from iPhone to radio, the music volume is suddenly much louder.
So I am looking for a way to amplify the signal coming in via the Tape DIN connector. I have no problem to put a pre-amp PCB inside the BeoMaster 700K. But I am not sure which one I need. As it should be able to have the right level of gain, to get radio and Tape-IN levels to comparable level.

Restoring or converting to something "modern"?The problem is not with the Beomaster. It follows DIN standards.The problem is with your Phone, which doesn't.

Thats why I think of putting a pre amp pcb in between.
For that I need to know what gain the pre-amp should have to get the radio and tape IN signal levels comparable.

What are we talking about, 3dB, 6dB or more?
Obviously you cannot use an RIAA as you would if it was a turntable, since it also alters the frequency response.In the case with your phone, it will merely be a matter of bringing the signal level up to standard - a thing the phone manufacturer really should have taken care of.
Sure, a RIAA pre amp is out of the question.
It is exactly what you mention Martin, it's all about bringing the signal level up to standard.So close to the level of the radio.
If it is 3dB, 6dB or more. I don't know. My knowledge is too limited to know that.Hope anyone has an idea or clear instruction.
Something like the iBoost 800 perhaps, if you're looking for something readymade.
