Hi
I recently bought a Beogram 1500 from 1980 and I am having trouble getting sound from my speakers.
I’ll start explaining what I did so far.
1. I connected the Beograms’ DIN cable to a danish branded DIN to RCA cable with ground.
2. The DIN to RCA cable I plugged into a Cambridge Azur 540p
3. Then a RCA cable from the preamp to the Marantz NR1605 receiver audio in
Is it worth to mention that I have a pair of Beolab 4000 already set up to my receiver?
I have no idea why I don’t get any sound.
Btw I have a MMC 20s on the turntable.
I hope you got some ideas of what to do!
kind regards Andreas (Denmark)
to eliminate the Marantz as a source of problem, you can try the following,
I assume you tested the set-up with a different source to be sure that the Marantz works with Beolab 4000 just fine.
Connect the RCA adapter cable directly without the preamp to the marantz. If you turn up the volume carefully, you should hear the sound of the beogram at very low level. If that is the case, your problem ist with the preamp.
If you hear nothing at all, the problem is with the adapter cable or beogram.
hope this helps
forget the first two lines, I forgot to take them out, soory
Hi Mafanni
Thanks for the answer!
i tried connecting the Beogram yesterday to the Marantz receiver without the preamp. But as far as I can hear there i no Sound coming from the speakers. The speakers works fine under all other conditions. could it be the Beogram or should I change something under the input assignment on the marantz when plugged into the CD audio in.
kind regards Andreas
