Why use an Apple TV with Eclipse/Harmony?

Forgive me, my friends, if this is a stupid question. 

But since the modern LG panels have the apps built-in, what is the point of adding a standalone Apple TV 4K to one of these TVs?

I use mine to get BT Sport as there doesn’t seem to be an app for that.

ATV eco-system far larger than LG one. The LG store is actually quite limited and not including anything close to the number of apps compared to apple or android.

LGs have Apple TV app built in which you can air lay anyway if it is just streaming content you are looking for

I am using both ATV and LG apps. The LG is on UK VPN for the UK channels (BBC, ITV etc) and the ATV is for the rest.

I also use a combination of LG apps (Hulu, Netflix, Amazon) and ATV for the rest. I use ATVs on my main TVs, and the ATV app on LG on the secondary TVs where I don't necessarily need all the other apps. Another reason for the ATV, at least for me and my family, is Apple Fitness +.

Apple TV has all the normal apps that the LG has but in most cases the sound is superior through the ATV and the stream bitrate for video is better.

In my case the exception is Netflix which I play through the LG app because it sounds better - don't ask me why that should be
