I bought my wife a new mobile phone samsung NOTE2, before buying this phone i went to bang olufsen and asked if this phone is compatible with beolink app. android . Seller response was "yes." but once i bought the phone ,to my surprise it does not work correctly with beolink app. android.
I wrote an email to bang olufsen and this is their response.
PS .Google Translate (We have chosen to take Beolink app from the market because a few picked it up. It works not with Android fourth It should work with Android 3, but since we no longer develop on it, it is not supported .) So be careful when buying new phones :)

I work in app publishing. One of the problems with Android is that there is no 'standard' version - each phone/tablet developer puts in their own little tweaks. That means it can be quite difficult and time consuming to support on all devices (way more than 1,000 to date). This may well change in the future but at the moment iOS is dominant so no surprise B&O decides to focus on that.

I have never heard of anyone downloading an app for their Android device, where the app didn't work because the device was from a certain brand But please, specify what you mean...
Ofcourse it would be so much easier if there was only one OS -and everybody had the same phone and same tablet...I would not like to live in a world like that. Sounds like China under Mao's regime -"We're all alike..." "You will be one of us..." -sorry - I won't take a bite of that fruit...
Is not the phone brand that does not work. Is android software 4,00 that do not work correctly. and B & O stop to offer support for android, and pulled the beolink app from google store.
PS.
Is something wrong with the screen resolution for my wife's phone, it has a triple size the app on screen , and some buttons are not the right place on the screen.
My personal problem is once again that in b&o stores works a lot of people who have no edeea what the selling and give you answers without checking if indeed it's true what they say : (
I personally would prefer to wait days to have a chat with B & O Struer as in past , to get a correct answer, than talking to someone in the store who know nothing about the products they sell.
I do not understand why they stopped having them chat with their clients. almost all electronic companies offer the opportunity to communicate with their customers through cheat.

Budget constrains and the lack of foresight? Look at how long it took them to respond to the i demand when now other manufacturers have moved on to work on products that function equally well with all portable mobile devices.
In response to Steffan's post, the main problem we come up against with Andriod is with how the app is presented on certain device screens, as Claudius has already noticed. Means that critical elements are sometimes not visible or images can be distorted. This often requires lots of minor but quite time consuming adjustments. We get the same problems with iOS but because there are fewer devices it is possible to test on all of them prior to launch. It's not possible to try every Android device prior to launching a new App simply because there are so many.
