Hi, I recently acquired a spare Beogram 4002 (type 5513) US Model with a 110v fixed voltage. The main board (8005016) is in cosmetically nice condition with little or no previous tampering. However not all functions work. I have determined that any faults are with the main board:

Pressing 33 rpm - record wiping function works

When pressing up or down -no response

‘’ (slow tracking both work)

‘>>’, ‘<

Auto drop of tonearm doesn’t work

Auto change from 33/45 doesn’t work

Manual command of 33/45 work and change motor speed

(All lights operate)

On studying the manual I thought that it might be one of the transistors in the

Detector arm circuit, instead of the solenoid circuit.s

Also does anyone know if it’s possible to rewire the transfer in this unit to achieve 220/240v. I say this as I have a step down transformer

Which works but its large and adds more clutter.

Kind regards,

All typical when it's time for a complete overhaul.

Thanks for this.

In your experience might these faults be related to the need for a recap, as each fault is specific to a different clusters on the main circuit board and but pointed to any one transistor.

I may be missing something obvious.

Every other part of the TT is now working as it should.

New capacitors, new trimmers, new relay(s).
Cleaning, lubricating, aligning, reinfusing motor bearings, new belts etc.

Hi, after much work and tests I have managed to get board working almost entirely as it should.

All buttons now work as they should and the tonearm drops where it should. The only issue (which I have experienced before In another deck)

Is a slow release of the magnet coil when it is engaged; either by pressing up or any other button.

Could this be a problem with the solenoid circuit or the electronic switch circuit?

This is not a lubrication problem

Kind regards.

Tonearm raise should not be slow.
It should be an instant click.

The tonearm is Lifting as it should now.

C36 was the culprit.
