Hello everyone, I ordered the Beolab50 last week. I am so excited but need to wait for 2 months before the beautiful speakers arrive...

Want to get some advice on the music sources connection, especially whether I should keep my existing DAC (Chord Hugo TT2).

Here is my existing set up:

Innuos Zen Mini Mk3 2TB (with ROON installed) -> Hugo TT2 (via USB) -> Beosound 3200's  Aux input -> Beovision 10-46 -> Beolab 9

For the future setup,  I plan to connect a LG OLED TV to Beolab50 via optical Toslink (suggested by the B
&O shop). For music, I will keep the Innuos Zen Mini.

My question is whether I should keep the Hugo TT2 or not after I read the discussion threads named "Beolab 50 and Turntables - is the sound digitised".

From that discussions, it seems like that I don't need it, I can just plug in the Innuos Zen Mini directly to Beolab50 (via USB) and let Beolab50 takes care the signals and everything should be fantastic. Anyone has experience connecting an external DAC / Chord's DAC to Beolab50? I have to admit that Hugo TT2 is a really a wonderful DAC and I can tell a significant difference with and without it. But given the Beolab50's new engineering structure, I am not very sure whether it is worth keeping the Hugo TT2 or I should sell it?

Looking forward to hearing some advice or comments.

Many thx

Hi there

I connect a Linn streamer /DAC to my 50’s using the Linn’s RCA output into the RCA input on the 50’s

It sounds a good deal better than if I bypass the Linn’s DAC and take a digital output from the Linn into one of the 50’s digital inputs

I don’t know the Chord well, but you can certainly improve the 50’s with some sources
