Beogram 5000 sounding very scratchy

We just played an album on our Beogram 5000 and the sound was very scratchy! The needle is clean and other components work. Tried the vinyl on another player and it was fine.

Beovox s812 speakers that are working fine for other components.

So the signal cable from your Beogram 5000 is connected to the speakers?
Yes, that won't give much sound.
