BeoPlay A8 MK II Software Update in 2021

Hello all,

 

I've recently purchased my dream speaker, a white BeoPlay A8 MKII.

 

It seems it still has a software of 2.22 (If I'm not wrong).

How can I update the software as it seems that this method does not work:

Because the current Bang & Olufsen App only sees the A8 if the phone is connected on the network of the Speaker. However, if the spaker is connected to the router with a Ethernet cable, it does not create a wifi network.

 

So I'm confused.

I have a Beoplay A8 MK II, and just today had a wireless network meltdown, so as a matter of course I checked the status of the A8.  The 'latest' software is version 2222, from 2013.  There is no newer software to install, so you're good to go.

If you're having trouble connecting to your wireless network, remember that the A8 doesn't know what 5GHz is.  You'll need to connect to your 2.4GHz band.

Yes, I wanted to update due the AirPlay drops, but just found out that maybe with a Google Chromecast Audio I can fix this issue.

Well, Airplay is solid for me, as long as I bring the A8 close enough to my wireless router. I don’t think AP per se is a problem: rather, the A8 doesn’t ‘hear’ the network very well. Other devices (e.g. phones, tablets) have no problem. FYI.

Just curious do you mean the A8 or the A9?
