hi everyone.

I bought a pair of BL8000 mk2's which came with brand new frets fitted prior to being dispatched. When i unpacked them it looked as though they had been knocked out of alignment during transit despite being very well packaged (both speakers were the same) and i had to try and push them back into place once i'd set them up.

Now when i look at the speaker from side on the fret doesn't appear to line up properly with the aluminium body of the speaker. hopefully the attached photo shows this. can anyone advise if this is normal? I don't really want to have to take the frets back off in case i damage the speakers (they are both in mint condition apart from this). pressing down harder along the edges of the fret doesn't see to make a difference - is there a knack to it?

There are 9 or 10 plastic tabs along the edges of the frets. You can see them if use a flashlight. At each one, grab the back of the cabinet (case) with the palm of your hand and then simply squeeze the front edge of the fret straight toward the rear with your thumb until the tab snaps in place.

To remove the frets, you do the same move, however, when you have squeezed just enough you can pull the fret back and outward until it's free from the cabinet. It's really quite simple.  You start at the bottom and work your way up, then slide it up.

Morning Bill, thanks very much for your reply.

I was pushing them on from the front rather than pulling from behind and that made the difference. i could hear a click as the clip aligned and the alignment does seem to be better now.
