I have bought a BM 6500 which turns on my LC2 at the same time every day and turns it off 1 hour later. It might have a 'light' timer set by a previous owner using a two-way remote control, and I would like to delete the timer. However, I do not own a BL 5000 or 7000. Is there any other way to clear the memory of the BM 6500 without soldering off the backup battery? I think Steve mentioned in a review of the Beotime remote that this device could also operate the the 'light' timer, but am in doubt whether this also applies to the BM 6500?
The Beotime does has a LIGHT command function, but is unable to program the BM6500 because it does not offer two-way programming.
I can't see any reset procedure in the BM6500 service manual, but others may know of one.
Are you not able to borrow a BL5000 or MCP? Perhaps someone can help if nearby?

As a quick fix, you can press mute and std.by at the same time on the Beomaster, it will show "Timer Off" on the front.
You can clear all timers and stuff in service mode, don't unsolder the battery, this will cause your FM frequency to not be correct (not a problem when not using 2-way remote, but anyway).

But doesn't that simply 'mute' the AV system for any timer events, rather than cancelling specific programming and/or transmission of the programmed LIGHT commands?

Bring the Beomaster in servicemode with shorting the little solderpad on the upc board. Then press "7".All presets, soundsettings, etc, will be deleted.

I have not had this issue on 7000, but mu 6500 had to have it set after battery change.
Nothing will "happen", other than if you use a Beolink 7000 remote, the frequency readout will be wrong, so if you tune to a FM station at 98.5mhz, it might show 98.3 or 98.7 instead.
This can be set in service mode.

I am not 100% sure, it has been a while since I used a LC2 with my 7000, but at least it is worth a try ?
Thank you very much for your guidance. I will try the 'timer off' quick fix, but also think it only cuts off the speakers and not the IR signal. For a permanent reset of the timers, it may be easier to find an affordable MCP than BL 5000. Can you confirm that MCP also works with the 'light' timer? I thought only BL 5000 and 7000 had this feature.

Sorry, I had assumed that it would, but having looked through the relevant manuals I can see no reference to the ability of an MCP to carry out light programming. There's is a chance that you could view and cancel previous programming, but to be honest I am not sure, so it would be better if someone with a BM6500 and MCP could check what it possible.
If you are anywhere near Milton Keynes you are welcome to borrow my BL5000 - sadly I think they are too fragile to put in the post!

I also appreciated the guidance to Service Mode and clearance of the memory mentioned above. I just think the CPU is a fragile part of the BM to work with if not having proper equipment such as protection from static electricity. There may be a good reason for placing the CPU board in a metal casing.
I will get back tomorrow when having tested the 'timer off' quick fix.

Just found my user manual, and it is correct, the Timer Off will only mute speakers, I dont think it will solve your problem.
Service mode or a remote is the only way.
The 'timer off' could not be used as a quick fix as it did not disable the IR transmission.
