Hi everyone,

Looking forward to joining this community and enjoying my B&O CRT TV :-)

I managed to pick up an MX6000 (Type 8710) from a local recycling centre recently, it didn't come with a remote so I bought a replacement one off the internet from here. On that page is a diagram showing the button mapping to a Beo4 remote.

Now, I realise the answer to most of my problems is going to be to get the Beo4 remote (and I likely will soon) but I just want to ask a few questions before dropping cash on one.

- Is the Beo4 the proper original remote for my TV? (Type 8710). As far as I can tell it should be but I have heard of MX6000's using the Beo1000 instead?

- With this replacement remote I cannot seem to switch to the AV2 input. From the mapping diagram you can see that one button is for "V.TAPE/REG" which only gives me V.TP-1, another button is for "A.TAPE/REG" which does nothing on my TV regardless of how I set up the sockets in the menu, the "AV" button also does nothing at all. I am guessing that with this remote the AV2 is simply inaccessable? I have tried to hook up a SCART input but this TV doesn't seem to support automatic switching (on either AV input, for that matter) which is a little strange.

- The picture on AV1 (which I have set to V.TP-1 in the Sockets menu) when watching my PS1 is pushed a little over to the left and is quite dark and muddy. When I open the Menu the picture brightens up and shifts over the right a little (although not all the way) until the menu is closed again at which point the picture reverts. Is this the correct behaviour? I can't honestly understand what's going on. I have made a very short video here (YouTube link) that displays the behaviour.

Any help with these issues would be greatly appreciated, thanks everyone.

So just a little more information:

The TV is from the PAL region.

The PS1 I mentioned is also from the PAL region.

I just tested the TV with an NTSC SNES console and the picture is still a little over to the left, but the picture looks brighter and when I open the menu the screen goes black (apart from the menu text), so the behaviour is different to the PS1.

One more question:

I tested it and I can access the Service Menu through the remote on this device (software version 4.4), can the off-centre picture be fixed in there?

Thanks!
