Hi,

I have several FM tuner modules for BM3500/4500 with board no. 8002978 in different versions. Common for all is when searching for FM stations the Beomaster is seacing from one end of the band till the other without locking into any station. It is common for both FM and AM. I know the error lies on the Fm tuner module because I managed to find an OK FM module and there after the BM works fine.
I suspect IC2 (LA3401) or maybe some support components, but I am not sure. Since I don't have any LA3401 on stock I cannot (at the moment) tryout my hypothesis. Do any of you have some experience to share?

Are you using a good antenna?

Yes the antenna is fine, if it works with one BM3500 it should also work with another.

Hello,

I have this exact problem with my BM7000. However, I have confirmed that the tuner board is perfectly fine (installed it into a different BM7000 and worked flawlessly). I have recapped the power supply but as when I measure them the other day two of the four seemed off so will try replacing them again to rule out defect caps. (also changed the backup battery and other caps related to the IR reception).

Please keep us updated on your progress and I shall do the same. Perhaps our issues are identical.

PS: Do you also on random occasions hear a radio station when you turn on the system after it has been unplugged overnight?.

Hi,

I have not had time to look into the problem but will try to remember to post an update when it happens.

To your last question BeoMedia; No cannot remember to have had that issue.
