My B&O MX6000 recently stopped working after 20 years without problems.
The TV was on for a while and it suddenly flashed out. It didn't flash out similar as it used to when I used the remote control, but like a really old tv: the image shrank to the middle of the tv with a green glow and with a strange noise. But it wasn't really a BANG.
I tried to turn on the TV using the remote control but then the LED flickers from red to green for a second, but then flickers back to red. Then I pulled out the switch-plug and put it back in after 5 minutes. Then the TV was able to start up and give image for 1 to 2 minutes and then flashed out again.I opened my TV carefully following these instructions, to see if there were any leaking caps or disconnected wires.Without any result. I've removed all the dust using a vacuum cleaner.
In the serice manual I've found that the TV uses a safety circuit to protect the TV in case of problems. But the detailed origing of the problems aren't specified. My question to you: do you have any idea/suggestion the help me further?(I've seen a list of caps that are common to cause problems, but because I'm not an electronic expert, I think it's too tenuous just replace these and hope it will work)
Edit:
For clarity, I made a video of the problem:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5cOeSSL-ZaEThe short period the TV turns on only occurs when the plug was out for a while, once turned on and flashed out: the red light only blinks to green and back to red when you try to turn on the TV directly after.
