I was given a non working Beocord 2000 Deluxe T.
This is the suitcase model which is manufactured only on 1966-1967.
Among many problems (bad pinch roller, various sounds on output etc) the problem I'm trying to resolve now is that sound from tape does not go further, as if the head is disconnected. Sound from line in goes to the amplifier so the problem is somewhere around the head preamplifier. So i'm trying to decode the schematic.

Actions I did:

1. Tried to output directly from all the heads to another tape recorder in its head cable. No success. I thought a head might be damaged but it is not possible that all heads are damaged.

2. Put a tape with 1khz signal and tried to get signal with scope directly from the head, not possible, too much noise and no specific signal.

3. Measured with scope the power input of the playback preamplifier, -17v and fine regulated so no problem there.

4. Tried with 1khz tape to scope the signal from the output of the playback preamplifier, I got a 50hz sine signal so there is a problem there.

5. All capacitors on playback preamplifier tested ESR OK.

6. Tested continuity of cable from head to preamplifier, OK, there is continuity.

If anyone has that unit and is willing to help somehow I'd be glad.

Thank you.

PS: I made a video of the testing and cleaning of the machine. If anyone if willing to have a look at it it can be found here. Sorry that I made it in greek but pictures can talk for themselves.

I removed all cables from all the heads (3 heads, 2 for playback, 1 for record) and I measured resistance to all. They all showed no continuity. This matches what I observed on the machine because connecting an electric guitar on the cables of the head I could hear sound from the output, so the preamplifier is working. How can it be possible that all heads are bad. All three of them are damaged somehow? what could have happened?

Is there a way that I can find heads for this machine?
