Hi,
I’ve had my my Beocentre 2 from new and it has this annoying habit of not spinning some of my CD’s. I press ‘Load’ the wings both open the black tray & clear cover swings up and so I load a CD in and press ‘Disc’, the wings slide closed and after a few seconds the wings open again on there own and the display reads ‘Load Disc’. I press ‘Disc’ again and the same thing will happen. I can try this multiple times and the unit will eventually spin the disc. I have also loaded a CD and pressed ‘Load’, the wings will close and stay closed but then when I press ‘Disc’ it will try to read the disc and then the wings slide open and the display reads ‘Load Disc’. When it’s rejected a CD I have loaded a different CD straight away and it will accept it, I’ll stop the CD that’s working and reload the CD it rejected only to find that it still won’t load it. All the CD’s are clean, free from any defects and are genuine record label CD’s. I have used a CD head cleaner and also cotton wiped the laser head. There aren’t any mechanical faults with the unit, no strange noises. It’s like the unit has its own taste of music it prefers 😁.
Anybody else experienced this?
Thanks
if you have a DVD compatible Beocenter 2, did you ever try to start a rejected CD with the DVD command?
Very occasionally my BC2 does the same. I think that the CD sometimes fails to centre properly on the drive or moves off centre as the clamper drops before the doors shut.

It doesn’t have the DVD facility.
Hi, I’ve often thought this but visually it looks well centred.
i have bought my BC-2 Dvd version preloved and had a similar experiance. lulckily enough i have bought it from a second hand dealer which than replaced the laser unit.from there on i have never ever had any issues with it. (bought it in june / july 2018)
