Hi all,
I recently bought a pair of 1.2v 4/5AA NiMh 1200mh (2HHR120) batteries with solder tabs from akkushop in Germany, shipped to UK and have made my own battery pack to go in a beo6 I bought on eBay.
This is the second pack I’ve made, first one works brilliantly in my existing beo5 using batteries from RS online, however this one hasn’t gone so well as the first... Like before I carried across the thermistor and wires from the old to the new, soldering in same way and finished off with heatshrink wrap. Looks v professional, however the battery pack gets quite hot while charging which is very concerning!
Should the beo6 show a message to say it’s fully charged? The aluminium base is always warm to touch and the beo6 always shows the ‘charging’ message on the screen even after days. By comparison my beo5 is never warm to touch. The beo6 however works, charges and lasts for about a week off the charger stand so it appears to charge and hold its charge well. Could these batteries be defective in some way, or could it be the thermistor at fault? Any help would be appreciated. I’ve since taken the beo6 off the charger just in case!
Rob.
I should add that I’ve tried charging the beo6 in the beo5 charger/dock and it’s the same; still gets hot,
