I'm renting an apartment with beovision 7-40 and holy lord I'm on a nervous breakdown from trying to connect video and audio to this TV.
How can I connect my ps4 with HDMI to dvi-i converter and get audio??
I see digital audio input? What cable do I need to connect there? I brought digital audio cable and surprise, surprise it's not fitting.
Hi lukanas17 and welcome to Beoworld.
There are several versions of the BV7-40, so not that easy to answer.
However since you mention DVI it must be a version 1 or 2 - but even there there are differences.
You need to connect the R/L analog audio-out that you would get using a HDMI extractor/converter to one of the inputs on the tv. In some cases you can use a digital coax connection.
Do you already have a picture using the DVI input?
A version/typ number and/or a photo of the input section on the BV would help to guide you further.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Hi,
It's class 1 so I guess version 1?
I do have picture with HDMI to DVI-I, only problem is the audio.

Perfect!
It is a MK2.
You will have to configure the AV4 port and add sound seperately.
Which converter are you using from the HDMI output, do you have sound there as well?
(If yes,) is this an analog output or a coax digital or maybe both?
I’d try the analog R/L first.
You can find the Reference Book
Have a look at page 67.
I assume that you have the Beo4 remote as well.
You might have to configure that in order to have the needed ir command ready - please ask or consult the User Guide of the remote.
Alternatively you might take the sound output directly from the PS4 - either via an optical to coax digital converter or via a small DAC (the rather inexpensive ones will do the job).
For settings on the PS4 see here:

Thank you so much for helping me.
The HDMI to DVI-I converter is without audio output(picture at the link)
And here are the cables that I have left from previous owner
I'm guessing tulips to aux and tulips to tulips?
And I have a really weird long cable that I never seen before. From aux to some light bulb? Maybe some kind of transmitter?,
So can any of these help me and if not what is the best choice for me to get the audio? Thanks again!

This is a PUC IR emitter, if the TV is set up correctly and you attach something like ATV or Sky box, if the TV has the item listed in the PUC menu you put the emitter on the attached equipment and you can control it using the B&O remote.

The first one....I have no clue what that might be - is it fixed inside the tv somewhat?
The second one - simply two audio cables (analog L/R). One is Cinch/RCA at both ends - the other Cinch at one and minjack at the other.
The last one is already explained - you won’t neeed that when you only want to connect PS.
N.B. Did you read the Reference Book, that I posted a link to?

Here is the type of convertor Millemissen is talking about LINK

It sounds like its is either SPDIF or COAX cable. I think the BV7 is COAX in and PS4 is Optical out so you need the correct cables at each end with the convertor in the middle.
Millemissen and Stoobietoo a really big thanks! Helped me a lot!
I need help once again.
So I bought toslink to coaxial converter(https://www.amazon.nl/gp/aw/d/B00LPHJMII/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
Plugged everything in and of course it's not working.
As you can see in the pictures I plugged toslink to ps4 and converter, then coax to TV audio socket 1 and plugged converter with micro USB to ps4 for power. Chose input switch to toslink.
On settings I choose audio socket 1 for dtv(I use dtv because with PC I don't get video even when I choose dvi-i for HDTV)
And then of course when I power everything it's not working.
Any idea why? I'm getting mega frustrated.

and plugged converter with micro USB to ps4 for power.
My initial thought maybe that the power output from the PS4 may not be enough to power the convertor.I don't know much about PS4 but is it automatically outputting sound to Toslink or are there any settings in the menus you need to change to say output sound via Toslink and not HDMI? (Or output sound to both?)
A google search found this
Tried to power it with power brick and look through all the settings still nothing.
Anyway thanks for the help but it finally broke me completely so I went and bought a new TV.
