Hi,

I have a Beocenter 2200 problem. The balance between the speakers is way off.

Is it a problem with the unit itself that would cause this. I have switched the speakers to see if it was a fault with them but it is not. To get an equal balance the left speaker is at number 2.5ish.

What could be causing this?

Probably a dying capacitor somewhere in the signal path.
I remember some of them sitting at the perimeter of the round cutout for the tuning gear, they are
quite small physically and are known to cause problems like this.

I have the same problem with my 2200. And it's only 27 years old!

I guess it will give up altogether one day but until then it stays - it was the first item of B&O equipment I owned and I still have a soft spot for it even though it now lives in a bedroom and only ever gets used for occasional radio play.
