I’ve recently upgraded my downstairs TVs, and now have multi room audio for Deezer/Spotify etc running in several rooms in my house. I’d really like to incorporate my Beovision 11-40 into the multi room set up so am wondering how best to do that? Would simply adding a Chromecast dongle be sufficient? If so, is there a way to automatically turn the speaker on when selected (like with the Harmony, Contour, smart speakers etc).
Any wisdom greatly appreciated!
Would be nice to know which ‘multi room audio’ devices you have - are they from B&O (means NL compatible)?
You won’t be able to turn on the BV11 automatically, if you have a Chromecast device (or an Airplay device for that matter) - you always will have to use the remote to activate the input, you have set up, before you can listen.
If you have a B&O/NL device with support for Spotify Connect, you can Join in (using the remote or the B&O app) to the listening session, once you have started the playback on the B&O/NL device.
If you use Chromecasting and you have a Chromecast device connected to the BV11, you will have to make groups in the Google Home app in order to have a multiroom experience (and as mentioned, you must turn on the BV11 manually).
Same goes for Airplay - if you have e.g an ATV connected to the BV11, you must tick the device in the AP menu on the phone/tablet....and turn on the BV11 manually.

There is a tv - and there is a BV
Thanks for you quick reply!
For TVs I have the Harmony 77, Contour and Beovision 11-40. I also have the Beosound 1 and M3 smart speakers.
So in theory, I should be able to start a listening session on one of the other TVs or speakers then simply select 'Join' on the remote for the 11-40, meaning there's no need for an additional Chromecast? Is any other set up required?
Thanks again, very useful.
Please go a google search for the phrase: ‘b&o multiroom sources handout’
Then you probably quickly will see a link to a PDF file with the name ‘Multiroom handout...’.
I have no direct link.
Further, this might help understanding what you can do using AP:
