Hi guys,

we trying to reconnect my fathers AV5. Everything works but only the cd-i/cd/dvd wont start. I can put the original b&o interactive cd inside. But when its closes it will wait for a few seconds, nothing happend and then it re-opens.

its a 2001 model..

We would love to play a game on this old beauty. Hopefully someone can give us a tip or part that we can replace..

Sounds basic, but the laser faces upwards and can really catch dust. Have you cleaned it?

Hi Lee, I have tried but only with a soft cloth not with alcohol yet. Maby i need to open it up and clean it inside and look at the connections?

is does not do anything. Can it be possible that a little rubber belt is broken? I don’t know if thats even inside.

Cleaned the lens better, no result. The lens “module” moves back when i mode in manualy. So that works. But it won’t start spinning.. and reading it

Given that you say that the draw closes, but does not spin up could mean that the controller thinks it has not closed yet.

The loader position is determined by means of two optical couplers. One checks whether the loader is closed; it does so by means of a "pin" that goes into a fork optical coupler. The other checks whether the loader is moving; it does so by means of a reflection from a gearwheel.

P115 transmits information to the CD control box indicating that the loader is closed.

Hi Keith,

Thanks for this info! Sounds very logic and possible. Where can i find p115?

OK, you have found P115 on the CDI Loader board. The cable which plugs into that socket should go to P227 on the CDI unit itself.

Yes that’s correct. I had it removed to clean all the dust on the other side. I also found the “pin” that go’s in the fork witch is next to all the gear weels.

I don’t know what to do with this once i found it. Haha
