Hi fellow B&O community
I am very close on getting my first B&O A9 purchase from https://cphsound.dk/.
I just want some more opinions or reviews before getting it.
My living room is pretty big and I don't have a lot of furnitues to consume any other soundwaves. What is your experience? How is the sound and quality in a big room?
Thank you in advanced Carrasco
Hi Carrasco,
I think it's the best bang for buck speaker they make. It will fill a room but when you say pretty big, and I say pretty big, it might be two different things.
I don't think you can go wrong. I've had mine for years, Mk2 and it's excellent.

I have an A9 MK4 in a fairly big room, it has no problem filling it in terms of volume, it is never set even close to the maximum. However, when sitting on the other side of the room, to me the sound clearly coming only from the opposite side was not very pleasing to listen. Therefore, I have added a Beosound 2 on the other side of the room. Most of the time the A9 and BS2 are playing together using Multiroom or Airplay, for me this is a perfect solution.
If you take the version with Google Assistent you can use the Beoremote One my buttons for commands like "Turn on the lights" etc. However, if you turn off the microphone you cannot use the my buttons at all. With the version without Google Assistent you can program the buttons to go directly to a specific source or channel, you can do the same with the Google Assistent version (if the microphone is on), however it works much more efficient and easier without it. The Google Assistent is also often unintentionally triggered. The kids like it, but I think no assistent gives a better user experience.

You should - at least - be aware of the different versions of the A9 before you buy.
And a Beoremote One or an Essence Remote will be usefull in your ‘pretty big livingroom’.
However, the MK1 has ir and can be (volume-)controlled with a Beo4 or alternatively with an Essence RemoteBeoremote One set to ir.
Have fun with the A9 🙂
