Hi Guys,

First time B&O owner and first time posting on this forum

I recently replaced my bose portable speaker with  beosound 18s after falling in love with them at a party (huge step up I know). Both the look and sound were super impressive however now that I have them at home I am finding the base is very underwhelming.

It has plenty of base if I crank the base up on the EQ however it is soft and mellow and has no kick to it. I even resorted to playing some heavy metal just to see if it would make a difference but still underwhelming.

Im not looking for subwoofer base to blast my windows out but was expecting 300watt speakers to at least have a bit of attack and kick rather than just soft and mellow. Iv had far more punchy base out of a cheap Sony boom box when I was a kid.

at this stage they only sound amazing when I play acoustic guitar music so I am wondering if it is something to do with the set up.

I am playing music off my Iphone through Deezers lossless streaming to B&O Core.

Speakers are floor mounted against wall 2.5m apart facing in the same direction. set to left and right.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Don

Have you tried changing the position (corner, wall, freestanding)

switch? This will affect the bass output significantly.

Hi and welcome to BW

As Duels writes yes change that switch

Also if they are set to left and right how are they connected to your core ? Is this powerlink or optical or ?

And in the app can you set / assign the speakers to BL18?

I have the essence mk2 and you can assign the specific type of speaker but I don’t have a core but think you should be able to do this

Also what’s the default sound level in the core ?

Yes you can set the specific speaker in the app for the core.

Does OP mean Beolab 18?

You can edit the equaliser settings in BeoApp I’m sure.

Make sure you go through all the settings on the Beocore carefully in the App.
