Hi
I want to get rid og the Connection Hub, as it have a high pitch noise both in standby and when turned on. I have got a replacement 3 times. Most of them only had problems with high pitch standby noise, but the current one also have the sound when turned on. When unplugging the power it disappear. What I have read it is a common problem with the Connections Hubs power supply and B&O can't/won't fix it.
Another problem is that my Sony smart tv sends out an optical signal even when in standby, so if I'm listening to music using the Connection Hubs mini-jack input (using an Apple Airport Express with AirPlay2), it will play music for 5-10 minutes, and then the TV sends a signal and the Connection Hub switches to the TV input, playing no more music. Switching by pressing the button on the back of the Connection Hub returns to the music input and music flows from the speakers again.
How do I make a setup with the Beoplay S8 as my speakers/sub-woofer playing my TV sound and also be able to stream music using AirPlay2? Can I hook it up with a receiver somehow or how to make this possible? I don't want to use an B&O part like BeoSound Core or something similar. The S8 is the only B&O in my home. And don't want to buy a B&O TV to solve the problem.
Current equipment: I have a Beoplay S8 (1. edition with ports for front, rear and center), a Sony smart tv, the B&O connection and a Apple Airport Express.
Thanks for the help in advance
Anders
