Hi

Apologies if this has been asked / covered previously

I can’t seem to get my ITunes music collection on my BS Moment

I have installed Serviio which the Moment as recognised as the DLNA Server

I have navigated to the music on my Mac to send to the Moment but there are zero values for Artists,Albums and Tracks reported on the Notification screen of the Moment.

The cover on the Moment as remained off

Thanks

I don't have a Mac these days so I probably won't be much help, but I'll try!

First, did you give time for the Moment to Harvest the server?  This can take a few hours.  If you remove the back cover the screen which first comes up should be "Notifications" and should have messages that the DLNA collection is being harvested, or that it harvested and "DLNA collection Processed".  This can take quite some hours to complete.

Another thing would be to check DLNA access from another device - like an iPad or another computer.  Can devices other than the Moment see your DLNA server?

Finally, are you sure the files are in a format that the Moment supports?  It allegedly handles FLAC, ALAC, MP3, WMA, and AAC.  My whole collection is in FLAC so I don't know how well other formats work.

EDIT:  The manual says "Music stored in the WMA lossless and AAC lossless formats are not supported, but can be converted to the FLAC file format."   If your music isn't in FLAC format I recommend converting an album and forcing a new re-harvest under the settings: Add Your Content -> DLNA -> Rebuild.

Here is the Manual: https://www.audio-tv-rivierenland.nl/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/30472829.pdf

It also says the following apply to music formats:

  • MP3 (all) or VBR/CBR 32 to 320 kbit
  • WMA, both VBR/CBR 32 to 320 kbit (no support for WMA Lossless)
  • AAC (ISO and ADTS) -> 320 kbit (no support for AAC Lossless)
  • ALAC general + 88.2, 96 kHz
  • PCM (WAV) general 88.2, 96 kHz
  • FLAC, 8 to 96 kHz, 16 or 24 bits, 2 channels

Speakers: 3x Beolab 8000 • 2x Beolab 6000 • 2x Beolab 3 • 3x Beolab 2
Integrated:  1x Beosound 2 • 1x Beosound Level • 4x BeoPlay M5 • 1x BeoPlay A6
Control:  16x* Essence Remote  • 1x Beoremote Halo

* Yes, really! 🤦‍♂️

Probably this is an old type of problem.

If before iTunes is solemnly used the music files are not tagged, simply because iTunes does work different; and iTunes is not DLNA capable.

So the best way to test:

1. take one iTunes album (see the supported formats in the previous post).

2. embed tags with an appropiate program (MP3tag or EZ meta tag editor on Windows for example)

3. rescan the Serviio server (make it simpler by letting only the chosen Album directory be scanned)

4. the Moment is set to be connect with the Serviio server.

5. let the Moment rescan the Serviio server

6. the Moment should show the Album/Artist and the tracks should be playable on the Moment.
