Powerlink protocol specification

As I understand it the Powerlink connection used with the with the BL5 and later uses not just an on/off trigger signal, but also uses protocol codes to send among others volume commands to the Beolab speakers.

Is this a correct assumption?

If so, is this Powerlink protocol specification available somewhere?
